MScomctl Update

There have been numerous instances where Microsoft’s Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) has caused Keystone reports to stop functioning. If this happens, this typically results in Keystone users seeing a message of “A Report Must Be Selected” when clicking on the Preview or Export button, even though a specific report has already been selected.

MoreThanData offers the MScomctl Update tool as a means of remedying this Windows Update problem. In most cases, this can be resolved by running the MScomctlUpdate.exe file. This file is available from our Downloads page.

Simply download and unzip the update, close Keystone, then double-click the MScomctlUpdate.exe file and follow the screen prompts to run the fix.

Note: This needs to be run individually by each Keystone user who is having this problem, as the Microsoft update is individual to each computer.
