Here’s a list of what’s new in Keystone 7.1.
General Overview
The focus of this release is threefold.
- We have made many small improvements and corrections to the general software.
- We restructured the database cleanup tools into one ribbon section and included additional tools for organizing and streamlining your database. Many of our long-term customers need to refocus their categories and revitalize their Fundraising Activities. As a result, we have added the ability to merge categories and Fundraising activities.
- We expanded our click-through technology. We have added a distinctive border to each field that provides a fast path to the primary screen to show the record related to that field. For example, double-clicking on the Name(s) field on the Mortgage/Payment Information screen will take you directly to the Family Partners screen and open that person(s) record for you. When you see a field outlined in a thin border (rather than the beveled, shadowed edges of regular fields), double-click on that field to see how this works.
Contact Management
- Merge Categories – This will allow you to consolidate similar Categories into one meaningful category while keeping all of the donations and hours posted to these Categories.
- An Address Case button has been added to the ribbon under Contact > Database Maintenance. This feature allows you to modify the case of all address fields.
- Improvements to Keystone and ScanDb and to correct and block several affiliation errors.
Development
- Merge Fundraising Activities – This will allow you to consolidate similar FRAs while retaining their history. You can also consolidate FRAs that repeat each year and remove the date designation.
- Added Donor Counts to the reports: By Category> Detail By Total; By Detail/Summary > Detail By Total; and Donor Class > Detail By Total
- The drop-down lists for FRAs and DDAs have been moved so you can either show just Active FRAs or All FRAs.
- A Values option has been added to some Donor reports to provide additional flexibility.
- ScanDb has been modified to identify: Club Pledges attached to an FRA that do not have a Club Pledge Type; Periodic Pledges attached to an FRA that do not have a Periodic Pledge Type.
Finance
- Escrow Analysis displays a warning message that lists active mortgages that have no escrow payees defined and as a result do not appear in the drop-down lists.
- An option has been added to the Mortgage Payments Collection report to allow selection by Due Date or by Paid Date.
- Two new reports – Principal Schedule History and Escrow Schedule History.
- Selecting the Modifications option on Audit Trail reports now displays the modifications within the period selected and all the entries leading up to the modification.
- Status-Keystone and Status-Metro 2 reports have been added and Status-Past has been deleted; the name of Status-Current has been changed to Status-Current Month.
- Several data problems were contributing to errors on the Closing Fee screen. ScanDb has been modified to find and fix these. Also, some modifications have been made to some messages and steps in the process to make the process easier to follow.
Volunteers
- The shortcut for adding new volunteers to the Schedule/Post Hours screen has been extended to also automatically add the Volunteer/General category.
- When a user adds a new name into a volunteer drop-down list, which will then add that person as a new volunteer, the Volunteers screen is automatically opened so you can enter that volunteer’s information.
- Volunteer drop-down lists now allow you to navigate to screens with additional information about that person. Double-clicking on a family partner will take you to the Family Partners screen, and double-clicking on a volunteer will take you to the Volunteers screen. Clicking the selection button in the drop-down list will show you if the person is a family partner or volunteer. To make it easier to see visually, the background color of family partners in the list is now gray.
- A Values option has been added to some Volunteer reports to provide additional flexibility.
Subscription Information
- When there is an outstanding balance due, the Register Renewal button becomes a Pay for Renewal button so affiliates can return to this screen and complete the subscription renewal process later.
- E-mail format validation had been added to this screen. If a user adds/modifies the e-mail address and the format doesn’t look correct, a warning message is displayed.
- Re-Activate License has been added under Tools > Options to make it easier to re-activate a license if it has been allowed to lapse.
General
- The shortcut for adding new contacts, volunteers, donors, etc. has been modified to accept the last name with a comma only and no first name.
- An option has been added to all the reports and screens that produce labels and envelopes. The default option is All Caps. The other option – No Change – will keep the labels as exactly what the affiliate has entered in the record.
- ScanDb now checks dates paid where the date is prior to 1990 and displays a message indicating these are questionable.
