MTD Keystone Version 7.0
Keystone 7.0 was released in early 2012. With the release of Keystone 7.0 came KeyAddress, our new utility that integrates with Keystone and streamlines the process of cleaning up addresses in your database. The KeyAddress utility itself is free to Keystone users as part of the Keystone 7.0 release.
With the release of Keystone 7.0, MoreThanData also implemented a new process for calculating and processing Keystone annual subscriptions. In the past we called these ‘annual support licenses’ to describe our annual fee and that it entitled affiliates to technical support and upgrades as long as they paid these support fees each year.
Starting with Keystone 7.0, we are using the term ‘annual subscription’ to include all of MTD’s software components and support services covered by this one annual fee. This covers your affiliate’s use of all MTD software products, phone and email support, all Internet training, access to the MTD User Forum, and any new product updates released during your subscription. This will allow us to add new software components and improve existing ones as well as expand our support and training resources while keeping everything under one pricing umbrella. Some of our current products – KeyCredit and KeyAddress – have processing charges, mostly third-party fees, however, the software, training, and support to use these services is included in the annual subscription fee.
If you are considering Keystone for the first time or your Keystone subscription has lapsed, please see our Pricing page for more information about our current pricing. If you do have a current Keystone subscription, go ahead and review our Changes to Keystone Pricing page.
Here’s a list of what was added in Keystone 7.0.
General
- Converted Keystone to run in Microsoft Office 2007 native mode to provide better performance, security, and access to additional functionality. This also improves compatibility with Microsoft Office 2010. Note: Microsoft Office 2003 is no longer compatible with Keystone as of version 7.0. If you need to upgrade Microsoft Office at your affiliate, you can do so through TechSoup for a nominal cost. Make sure you get Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 or Office Professional Plus 2007, and make sure it includes Microsoft Access.
- Replaced old menu and toolbar with the ribbon bar to make it consistent with current versions of Microsoft Office and to provide access to additional functionality.
- Support for a new pricing structure – to insure long term support and sustainability of Keystone.
- Security in Affiliate Setup has been expanded so affiliates can specify which areas each user is allowed access to in Affiliate Setup while blocking others.
- Support for QuickBooks Version 2011.
- MTD has migrated to a new web hosting service to improve the reliability of Keystone’s web-based functionality and to provide a better platform for expanding these features in the future.
- Keystone now reports general, aggregated statistics about how affiliates use the software so that MoreThanData may better know which features are most used. This will help us focus our software development resources on those features. Only summary statistics are collected; no personal information about any records in affiliate databases is collected.
- Print Preview provides the ability to not only export your report data to Excel and Word but also to a PDF file, with the option to also send the report data as a PDF attachment to an e-mail.
- ScanDb has been modified to identify bad e-mail address formats for both family partners and contacts.
Contacts
- Address maintenance and the new MTD KeyAddress utility – MTD has developed a separate, free utility called MTD KeyAddress to provide National Change Of Address (NCOA), Delivery Point Validation (DPV), and standardization using Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) for your Keystone contact addresses. Mailings that are CASS Certified are eligible for certain bulk mail postage discounts. MTD has negotiated a reduced rate for Keystone users with a third-party service and designed KeyAddress to provide a streamlined method of sending your address data to this service and re-importing them when the verified and corrected addresses are returned to you.
- Web site address fields – Added so you can record a contact’s web site and link to them.
- E-mail formats – Your contacts’ e-mail addresses can be checked to see whether they are formatted properly (e.g., contains an @, ends in dot-something, doesn’t contain punctuation) so you can note and correct these as needed.
Family Services
- Multi-language support – Keystone now provides for delinquency letters and escrow notifications in different languages to meet the needs of your homeowners.
- E-mail formats – E-mail address formats are now validated so you can note and correct bad addresses.
- E-mail/Logs – You can now bulk post to Keystone logs the e-mails you send out.
- Family Partners screen – Deceased dates have been added.
- Exports – Additional fields have been added to the export of the Mortgage Information Collection and the Delinquency letter export to provide greater flexibility for affiliates in creating merge letters.
Finances
- Audit Trail – The philosophy of the audit trail has been changed from “changed to” reporting to “change from” reporting, which indicates who created the original record and when it was created.
- Mortgage Roll Forward Report – An auditor requested report that provides a running total of mortgage payments and escrow payments and disbursements for a selected period.
- Update Mortgage Status – You no longer have to run Update Mortgage Status for all homeowners when you only need it for a few homeowners. You now have the option of selecting a subset of homeowners to run this on.
- Mortgage/Payment Information Screen – The mortgage maturity data and the expected payoff date have been added to this screen.
Volunteers
- Reports – Two new reports have been added, Volunteer’s First Hours and Volunteer’s Last Hours. Each lists volunteers who fall within a selected date range.
