Donors are contacts who have donated or may potentially contribute funds or materials to your affiliate. In order to record donations, donor logs, and other donor-specific information, donors must be entered into Keystone as contacts and assigned one of the Donors categories. For more information about categories, see the Introduction to Categories section.
The Donors screen is the central point from which you can manage donors and donations in Keystone. You can access it by opening the Development tab in the Keystone ribbon and clicking Donors.
Once the Donors screen opens, select the donor you want to work with from the Name drop-down list at the top of the screen.
Only contacts that are assigned to a Donors category appear in the Name drop-down list. If a contact record has two people in it, or has one person and an organization in it, any contact within that record that has been assigned to a Donors category appears in the Name drop-down list. Any contact without a Donors category assignment does not appear.
If an existing contact is not listed among the donors, add a Donors category to that contact. If the contact isn’t in your database at all, you can add it from the Donors screen. If you find you need to add the Donors category to the contact, see the Categories Tab section. For more information about categories, see the Introduction to Categories section. If you need to add the contact, see the Adding Contacts to Your Database section for more information.
Double-clicking the Name field takes you to the Contacts screen, where you can see all of the contact information for this contact. Click the button on the Contacts screen to return to the Donors screen.
The Donors screen has many tabs that contain a variety of information about donors. The first six tabs are the same tabs that you see on the Contacts screen. Click the tab names below to view information about those tabs.
If a donor does not have any pledges recorded for them, the two pledge tabs will not appear. If you decide you want them to appear anyway, check the Show All Pledge Tabs check box in the lower right-hand corner.
The Last Modified date field in the bottom left part of the Donors screen shows you when the selected donor was last modified.
