Escrow Disbursements Screen

Use the Disbursements screen to record payments toward escrow obligations from the homeowner's escrow fund. To open the escrow Disbursements screen, click the Disbursements button on the Mortgage/Payment Information screen. The selected homeowner is displayed at top left.

Generally, when your affiliate writes a check to someone, you should enter this as a disbursement on the Escrow Disbursements screen; and when you move money between accounts and no check is involved, make a non-standard payment entry on the Payments screen.

However, there are occasions when a positive entry should be made on the Disbursements screen. These are almost always related to a check your affiliate has received because of an escrow activity.

For example, the homeowner changes insurance companies in the middle of a policy period.  They will receive a refund for the unused portion of the policy.  Some tax authorities have a rebate program for some groups of homeowners.  This will come to the affiliate for those homeowners who qualify.

Enter transactions that decrease the homeowner’s escrow account with negative amounts. Enter transactions that increase the homeowner’s escrow account with positive amounts.
