Use the Development tab on the Affiliate Setup screen to define various defaults for use with donor and fundraising activity records.
The Development tab allows you to define the Fundraising Activity (FRA) Types your affiliate would like to use. These are broad categories for fundraising activities such as Campaign, Grant, Covenant Partner, and Club Pledge. These types help you customize Keystone reports according to your development needs. They also help you organize fundraising donations into groups that can be used to verify your fundraising QuickBooks accounts.
You can add types or modify existing types. However, the Undefined, Grant, Club Pledge, and Periodic Pledge types are reserved by Keystone and cannot be modified or deleted.
These activities appear in drop-down lists in several places in Keystone. You can change the order in which these types are shown in those drop-down lists by selecting an activity from the Names list and clicking the or button.
Club Pledges are pledges where a donor commits to giving you a donation of a specified amount for each house you build. The Development tab lets you define whether your affiliate wants to do Club Pledge notifications to donors when you start work on a house (At House Start) or when you finish a house (At House Completion).
If you choose At House Start, when you enter the Groundbreaking Date for the house, notification information will be automatically generated for all active club members. If you choose At House Completion, when you enter the Dedication Date for the house, the notification information will be generated. For more information, see the Adding Club Pledges to Donors section.
When you are pursuing grants, some granting agencies may want to know, for example, how many of the people you serve are handicapped or elderly; or how many of the houses you are building are handicapped-accessible. These agencies also may give you more favorable treatment if some of your homes are built in a certain census tract, for example. You can tailor these attributes to capture the information you need for the grants you plan to apply for. The Development tab provides a way for you to define demographic attributes that can be assigned to family partners or to properties and houses.
Enter the demographic attributes for families in the Attributes list in the Family Partner area. Likewise, enter attributes for properties and houses in the Attributes list under Property/House.
Keystone can then create reports that provide statistics on these attributes that you can use for pursuing grants.
