Property Description Tab
Use the Property Description tab to record information describing the property.
A number of fields are included for describing the site
- Neighborhood - this drop-down list allows you to define which neighborhood this property is located in. You can add neighborhoods to the list on the Property tab on the Affiliate Setup screen.
- Direction To - may be used to record the directions to reach the property. If the address of the work site is linked to the property, you will be able to export this field for use in merge letters. This allows you to send directions to volunteers and family partners scheduled to work at this address, or to invite Club Pledge members to groundbreaking or dedication events there.
See the description of the House(s) tab for a discussion of linking of addresses/work sites with properties.
Before typing directions, you may want to double-click this field to open a larger editing window so you will be able to see all of your directions. To include a carriage return in your directions, hold down the Ctrl (Control) key while you press Enter.
- Prior Discussions - may be used to record comments on past discussions about the property.
- Existing Structures - may be used to describe any existing structures on the site and their condition.
- Parcel Reference No. - used to record the map, group, and parcel coordinates of the property.
- Taxes pane fields - use these fields to record the annual amounts of city and county property taxes, as well as the sum of delinquent taxes for which your affiliate would be liable on accepting the property.
- Buildable Lots pane fields - use to record the total number of homes that may be developed on the property, the number of lots that are committed and cannot be considered available for building, and the available lots that are still a part of your “land bank” that can be used for planning future homes.
- Purchase pane fields - used to record the date of the purchase, the price, other costs, and total cost of the property.
- Assessors Value - use to record of the assessed value of the property.
- Offer - use to indicate whether the seller is willing to donate the property or offer it for sale.
- Property Notes - may be used to record any additional notes. Note that this field is specific to the property, in contrast to the Notes on Seller(s) field on the Sellers tab, which is part of the seller's contact record.
Sometimes the cost of homeowners insurance is dependent on how far away the house is from the nearest fire hydrant. When you are evaluating a lot for purchase, you may want to add this information to the Property Notes field so you do not have to make a separate trip later to determine this information.
