When an Error Occurs While Using Templates
In order to use templates in Keystone, Keystone must be able to find the template for the document you are trying to generate. If Keystone cannot, you will see an error message that tells you what is wrong and indicates how to fix it. These error messages are:
- If the location of a template is defined in Keystone, but Keystone cannot find the template at that location, Keystone displays an error message with the current, incorrect location.
Solution: You must go to the Documents/Templates tab in Affiliate Setup and enter the correct template location.
- If the location of a specific template file has not been defined in Keystone, an error message is displayed notifying you that the template location is missing.
Solution: You must go to the Documents/Templates tab in Affiliate Setup to enter the template location.
- If the location for the Keystone Template Folder is not defined in Keystone, an error message is displayed notifying you that the Keystone Template Folder location is missing.
Solution: You must go to the Documents/Templates tab in Affiliate Setup to enter the Keystone Template Folder path.
- If the location for the Keystone Template Folder is defined but is not valid, an error message appears notifying you of this.
Solution: Generally, this is caused either when template files are not correctly copied into the same folder your Keystone data file is stored in, or from moving the templates to a server and then not setting up Keystone to find them at their new location. Go to the Documents/Templates tab in Affiliate Setup to fix this problem.
- If you get an error that says there is no data, you may get an additional With Block error if you just click OK.
Solution: This generally means that the data link between your template and its Data Source is broken. See the Creating and Editing a Template with Word for information on how to edit your template to restore the Data Source link.
- If your template is picking up information from every available letter or the wrong letter in a selection list, rather that just the letter you intend to use it for, the recipient list for that particular template is probably incorrect.
Solution: See the Creating and Editing a Template with Word for information on how to set up your recipients list correctly.
