Registering an Automated Template

Registering an automated template refers to setting up Keystone to know where your new template is and what it is for. You can do this by going to Affiliate Setup and assigning a number, name, and location for your new template.  The location of the template file can be either on your hard drive or network server. Once the template is registered, you are ready to use your new automated template.

Only automated templates need to be registered. Templates related to Labels and Export Data reports do not.

To register a new automated template in Keystone
  1. Open the Tools tab in the Keystone ribbon and click Affiliate Setup.
You will need to be logged in as the Keystone Administrator to register an automated template. Enter your password, if needed. The Affiliate Setup screen then appears.
  2. If you are trying to enable a delinquency template, see the Mortgages tab section for information on setting up delinquency templates. For all other templates, continue with step 3.
  3. Click the Documents/Templates tab.
  4. Select the type of template you wish to register from the Template Type drop-down list.
  5. Go to the new record line at the bottom of the templates list and enter the new template number in the # field.
  6. For most automated templates, the number (#) controls what data is used by the template. For form-based templates, the number controls the order in which the templates appear when they are presented as part of a list.

  7. Enter a name for the template in the Name field.
  8. Click the Browse button to locate the new template file on your hard drive or network server, then select it.
  9. Click the Close button.
You have finished setting up your new automated template.
