Adjusting Label Spacing

On most systems and most printers, Keystone label reports print properly when printed directly to standard Avery 5160 labels. However, for some combinations of Windows operating systems and printers, they do not; and the printed information is positioned incorrectly on the labels as the information moves down the page. You can adjust the spacing between labels within Keystone, if required.

If you experience this problem, follow the steps below to adjust the spacing.

  1. Open the Tools tab in the Keystone ribbon and click Options.
    The Options screen appears.
  2. Select the Other tab.
  3. Subtract or add 0.01 to the Height Adj. field.
  4. Open the Reports screen and print a single page of labels from any Labels report as a trial.
You may want to print test labels on plain or recycled paper rather than actual labels until you are satisfied with the result. Hold the paper and a blank label sheet together in front of a light to see how the label printing aligns with the labels on the sheet.
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 until the labels are aligned correctly.
The Height Adj. value describes the number of inches to add or subtract between each label row. You may specify up to two decimal places for a precise alignment.

Note that any adjustment you enter here only applies to the current user, and may be valid only for the currently selected printer. If you have the same problem printing for other users or computers, you will need to repeat these steps there. You also may need to readjust the label spacing again if you change system configurations, printers, or printer drivers.

Apply the minimum adjustment required for adequate alignment. Too large an adjustment may result in fewer than 30 labels printing on the first or subsequent pages.
  6. Click the Close button when you are finished.
